Manchester United fans reacts to Martial being left out of France squad by @ royal

Manchester United fans were in a collective state of shock as Didier Deschamps announced his squad for France’s upcoming clashes with Bulgaria and Belarus.
Anthony Martial, who has been one of Jose Mourinho’s standout performers at Old Trafford this term, has missed out on joining up with Deschamps’ party, while Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette and Olivier Giroud made the cut in attack.
Kingsley Coman, Antoine Griezmann, Thomas Lemar, Kylian Mbappe, Dimitri Payet and Florian Thauvin are the other forwards in the 25-man squad for France’s World Cup qualifiers.
Martial, who has made 15 appearances for French national team, has had a barnstorming start to the season for the Red Devils, scoring five goals in all competitions.
‘But it’s normal to have a dip – he had a very packed season last year. ‘There has been a little bit of a dip, a lack of confidence. It can take a bit of time.’
Here’s how Unites supporters reacted to Deschamps’ latest squad…

Paris Saint-Germain 3 Bayern Munich 0: Miserable return to Paris for Ancelotti by @ royalpizzle

Facebook Founder, Mark Zuckerberg Replies Donald Trump claim that Facebook has always been Anti-Trump - by royalpizzle.

United states President, Donald Trump yesterday Tweeted that Face book has always been Anti Trump.
See the tweet below;
Facebook was always anti-Trump.The Networks were always anti-Trump hence,Fake News,@nytimes(apologized) & @WaPowere anti-Trump. Collusion?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 27, 2017
And now, Facebook Founder, Mark Zuckerberg has replied. Mark wrote on his Facebook page;
I want to respond to President Trump’s tweet this morning claiming Facebook has always been against him.
Every day I work to bring people together and build a community for everyone. We hope to give all people a voice and create a platform for all ideas.
Trump says Facebook is against him. Liberals say we helped Trump. Both sides are upset about ideas and content they don’t like. That’s what running a platform for all ideas looks like.
The facts suggest the greatest role Facebook played in the 2016 election was different from what most are saying:
– More people had a voice in this election than ever before. There were billions of interactions discussing the issues that may have never happened offline. Every topic was discussed, not just what the media covered.
– This was the first US election where the internet was a primary way candidates communicated. Every candidate had a Facebook page to communicate directly with tens of millions of followers every day.
– Campaigns spent hundreds of millions advertising online to get their messages out even further. That’s 1000x more than any problematic ads we’ve found.
– We ran “get out the vote” efforts that helped as many as 2 million people register to vote. To put that in perspective, that’s bigger than the get out the vote efforts of the Trump and Clinton campaigns put together. That’s a big deal.
After the election, I made a comment that I thought the idea misinformation on Facebook changed the outcome of the election was a crazy idea. Calling that crazy was dismissive and I regret it. This is too important an issue to be dismissive. But the data we have has always shown that our broader impact — from giving people a voice to enabling candidates to communicate directly to helping millions of people vote — played a far bigger role in this election.
We will continue to work to build a community for all people. We will do our part to defend against nation states attempting to spread misinformation and subvert elections. We’ll keep working to ensure the integrity of free and fair elections around the world, and to ensure our community is a platform for all ideas and force for good in democracy.

Lai Mohammed Speaks on Nnamdi Kanu Whereabouts, Reveals Where he is

While speaking to Agence France-Presse (AFP), Lai Mohammed has dismissed claims that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, is in government custody. According to the minister he suspects Kanu is hiding from prosecution.
The minister said, “He’s not being held by government at all.”
The separatist leader has not been seen in public for over a week after the military allegedly invaded his father’s home in Umauahia, Abia state capital.
His supporters claim that he has been abducted by the government just as his pro-Biafra group was branded a terrorist organisation by the government.

Top 10 Greatest Philosophers In History

This list examines the influence, depth of
insight and wide-reaching interest across many
subjects of various “lovers of wisdom,” and
ranks them accordingly. It should be noted,
first and foremost, that philosophy in its
traditional sense was science – philosophers
(like Aristotle) used rationality to come to
scientific knowledge of the world around us. It
was not until relatively modern times that
philosophy was considered to be separate from
the physical sciences.

LAUTECH: We are not resuming – ASUU

LAUTECH: We are not resuming – ASUU

Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)  in Ladoke Akintola University of Technology ( LAUTECH ) , Ogbomoso, and the school management have remained at loggerheads, despite the meeting held by the two parties on Monday to end the prolonged strike.

The union’s Zonal Coordinator, Dr. Ade Adejumo, told The Nation on Wednesday that the union was yet to receive the six months salary arrears promised by the two owner-state governments — Oyo and Osun — as their means of resolving the strike.
“Nothing has been offered to us,” Dr. Adejumo said. “We are still where we were when we started the action.”
The school management on Thursday declared the university reopened, asking students to resume for academic activities on Monday, September 18; but the academic staff union promptly denounced the announcement, stating that none of their issues had been addressed and that “strike is still in full force.”
This prompted the school management to invite the academic staff union for a meeting on Monday to “discuss issues related to the reopening of the university.” The management also explained that “the slight delay” in reaching out to the union “was inadvertent as it was occasioned by the pressure of work.”
However, the meeting was not productive, as the academic staff union maintained their stand regarding the strike. “We are not coming back,” said Dr. Adejumo.
He pointed out in a separate interview that the union would not be open to dialogue unless their agitations are taken care of. Their agitation, he said, goes beyond salaries. “We need a sustainable way to run the institution.”
Dr. Adejumo advised parents not to send their children back to school.
“Do not let the government deceive you into sending your children back to school,” he said.
The Nation reached out Lekan Fadeyi, the PRO of LAUTECH, who said he was not at the meeting with the academic staff union and referred our reporter to the University Registrar.
The Registrar, however, could not be immediately reached.

NASU, NAAT and SSANU suspend strike

NASU, NAAT and SSANU suspend strike

The Non-teaching staff of Nigerian Universities have suspended their two-week old strike over non implementation of agreement by the Federal Government.

It will be recalled that the non-teaching staff of universities under the auspices of Joint Action Committee (JAC) had embarked on an indefinite strike on Sept. 11 over non-implementation of its 12- point demand.
Mr Samson Ugwoke, National Chairman of JAC said this at a news conference at the end of its National Executive Council meeting on Thursday in Abuja.
The unions are made up of the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU).
The demands of the unions are the payment of earned allowances to members, a review of the governance system in government-owned universities and improved funding in line with UNESCO recommendations.
The unions also demanded the provisions of infrastructure in universities and payment of salary shortfall being owed members, implementation of the National Industrial Court judgment on University staff schools and the registration of NUPEMCO.
Others are implementation of CONTISS 14 and 15 for Technologists as well as the improvement of teaching and learning facilities in the universities.
The unions also called on Federal Government to show more commitment and seriousness in the renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/University unions agreement, among others
Ugwoke said a template had been developed towards addressing the issues in contention.
“We hope that this will be a panacea to the continued conflicts between the university based non-teaching staff unions and the federal government.
“”We have developed an actionable template with specific time frames to implement salient aspects of the agreement.
“Based on the foregoing and following exhaustive and extensive consultations with our various union organs, we hereby announce the suspension of the strike embarked upon by the Joint Action Committee of NAAT, NASU and SSANU.
“” We have consequently directed our members to resume work on Monday, September 25, 2017.
In one month’s time.”We shall be reviewing the level of compliance with the agreement and shall not hesitate to resume the strike action if government reneges on the agreements reached or delays in any aspects,” he said.
He commended the Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen, Chris Ngige, other members of government delegation and the NLC President, Mr Ayuba Wabba for their effort in the resolution of the problems.

I didn’t demand N7bn from Obiano – Peter Obi

A former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, said on Wednesday he did not demand for N7billion from his successor, Willie Obiano.
The ex-governor said he left about $156million in bank, N25billion cash and N25billion in local investment for his successor.
Obi said he has never supported any candidate for personal benefits.
He also denied nursing ambition to be the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019.
Obi, who made the clarifications in a chat with journalists in Abuja, asked Governor Obiano to join him in church and swear an oath on the N7billion controversy.
He said: “Let me ask a question, you all are educated and it is on record in this country and documented, I can prove it with every clear documented evidence that when I left office , I left over N25billion in local investment for Anambra State. I left over N25 billion in cash in the bank. I also left $156 million in the bank in Nigeria. Do you think anyone can leave such money and go to beg the person he is handing over to give him N7 billion when I left over N75 billion?
“I would have taken the N7billion first, then give them the balance and I will still be in good shape. Let me use the dollar as example. Nobody has ever left $1 in any state in Nigeria. I left $156 million. About  $30million alone is over N7billion. If I had taken chances and left $120million, I will still be a champion. So why will I leave that one and go begging for peanut?
“Why would I need the money and then go to beg the person I handed over to give me N7billion?  I would have taken it. Let us be rational about all these.
“What is the idea behind this? It is sheer madness for anybody to do it. Not even in a family business, I cannot leave money and then go back to beg my brother talk less of handing over to somebody who is not my brother and who can change tomorrow.
“So, it is sheer blackmail, I have never and I am a Christian.  I am not supposed to swear but I can put my hand in any form of oath to say I have never discussed with anybody to be paid any amount. Let Obiano himself come, let us go before hierarchy of our church or anything to swear. I have never done that and I will never do it.
“At this stage of my life, I cannot support anybody’s political aspiration for personal benefits. I have passed that stage. God has been very gracious to me. I did not go into politics in need. I was already a director in three financial institutions, a director in four other major companies out of which it was by the virtue of my investment I was running a successful family business.”
“If anything, going into politics made me poorer but I won’t question anything because that is where God wants me to be.
“Whatever happens to me is God’s design and I respect that. For me, all I want is for us to have a better society; caring for the poor, caring for the people.”

Dambazau says online document linking him with threat to kill Nnamdi Kanu is fake.

- General Abdulrahman Dambazau has denied report that claimed he threatened the life of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB
The minister said the report was fabricated - Dambazau claimed that the perpetrators of the malicious statements are out to cause disaffection, disunity and insecurity while creating public unrest. Minister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Dambazau has denied news published on an online media in which he was quoted to have claimed that leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra could be killed and nothing would come out of it. In the said publication, the minister was alleged to have said that killing Nnamdi Kanu would not tear Nigeria apart, citing the deaths of MKO Abiola, the acclaimed winner of June 12 presidential election in 1993, his wife, Kudirat, Ken Sawo-Wiwa and the imprisonment of Obafemi Awolowo, as prime examples of people who had suffered in the hands of the federal powers. The minister expressively denied the allegation in a statement signed by the press secretary to the minister, Osaigbovo Ehisienmen."The attention of the Honourable minister of Interior, Lt General (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, has been drawn to a fabricated, malicious, ridiculous and false report posted on Linda Ikeys blog and other social media platforms, in which the minister is falsely accused of threatening to kill Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB. Going further, he said the minister was allegedly quoted to have said: "If we can imprison Awolowo, killed Ken Saro - Wiwa, murdered Abiola and his wife without Nigeria breaking apart, we are moving to kill Nnamdi Kanu" attributed to the Interior Minister is untrue and quite unfortunate, because the perpetrators of the falsehood and gross innuendoes ought to know that Gen Dambazau (Rtd), a former Chief of Army Staff and a renowned, seasoned security expert with over 30 years PhD degree in criminology cannot conceive such ideals, nor take the credit for such." "The perpetrators of the malicious statements are out to cause disaffection, disunity and insecurity while creating public unrest, detrimental to the well-being of Nigerians and other foreign nationals in the Country. He therefore called on Nigerians to disregard their antics, as government is committed to the good and prosperity of every Nigerian," he said. The federal government has given reasons why it cannot arrest members of a coalition of northern groups which had on June 6, issued a quit notice to Igbos living in the northern part of the Nigeria. But the minister of interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, addressing newsmen on the issue in Abuja on Saturday, August 26, said that the Arewa associations had denied making any inciting statement against the Igbos
