Dambazau says online document linking him with threat to kill Nnamdi Kanu is fake.

- General Abdulrahman Dambazau has denied report that claimed he threatened the life of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB
The minister said the report was fabricated - Dambazau claimed that the perpetrators of the malicious statements are out to cause disaffection, disunity and insecurity while creating public unrest. Minister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Dambazau has denied news published on an online media in which he was quoted to have claimed that leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra could be killed and nothing would come out of it. In the said publication, the minister was alleged to have said that killing Nnamdi Kanu would not tear Nigeria apart, citing the deaths of MKO Abiola, the acclaimed winner of June 12 presidential election in 1993, his wife, Kudirat, Ken Sawo-Wiwa and the imprisonment of Obafemi Awolowo, as prime examples of people who had suffered in the hands of the federal powers. The minister expressively denied the allegation in a statement signed by the press secretary to the minister, Osaigbovo Ehisienmen."The attention of the Honourable minister of Interior, Lt General (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, has been drawn to a fabricated, malicious, ridiculous and false report posted on Linda Ikeys blog and other social media platforms, in which the minister is falsely accused of threatening to kill Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB. Going further, he said the minister was allegedly quoted to have said: "If we can imprison Awolowo, killed Ken Saro - Wiwa, murdered Abiola and his wife without Nigeria breaking apart, we are moving to kill Nnamdi Kanu" attributed to the Interior Minister is untrue and quite unfortunate, because the perpetrators of the falsehood and gross innuendoes ought to know that Gen Dambazau (Rtd), a former Chief of Army Staff and a renowned, seasoned security expert with over 30 years PhD degree in criminology cannot conceive such ideals, nor take the credit for such." "The perpetrators of the malicious statements are out to cause disaffection, disunity and insecurity while creating public unrest, detrimental to the well-being of Nigerians and other foreign nationals in the Country. He therefore called on Nigerians to disregard their antics, as government is committed to the good and prosperity of every Nigerian," he said. The federal government has given reasons why it cannot arrest members of a coalition of northern groups which had on June 6, issued a quit notice to Igbos living in the northern part of the Nigeria. But the minister of interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, addressing newsmen on the issue in Abuja on Saturday, August 26, said that the Arewa associations had denied making any inciting statement against the Igbos
